conclusion-just a basic summary of the two subjects i am going to talk about and end it of with a overall reason and the biggest issue.

modern day Christmas carol theme

I think that if I made a modern themed Christmas carol I think that that it will be set somewhere where there is a lot of businesses such as bank because over at bank there might be someone that cares about money more than family so I think that bank will be a good setting. I also think that the person that could be someone like scrooge could be a young business man because nowadays young men care about money more than old men so I think that a young business man will be a good character. I also think that it should be set on a very snowy something like a small blizzard to show how the young business man is feeling inside and is really stone hearted and to show that he doesn’t care about anything except money and is very stingy with it. the difference between scrooge and my character is that my character spends time at Christmas with his family(but is divorced) spends no money on his family he makes his wife do all the work and he earns money and keeps it to him self to spend it on alcohol and spend time with friends. scrooge is a man that hates Christmas and has no family and friends. my character might sound nice but spends no money are quality time with his family which he will miss and he is either at work or out with his mates getting drunk.

the young business man will live in a apartment instead of inside a Victorian house this apartment will be near west end and is really posh. the young business man has a partner who is old and humble and cares for everyone else this man is going to be Muslim to show that not all Muslims can be bad and only certain people are. this man cares for the young business man and wants him to enjoy life and spend time with his family even if they are divorced and not to spend all of it at work.

the ghosts in my story will be how he is and how he could’ve been if he put family first one of the ghost these ghost will change the young business man and put him right and not to be selfish. this is what my story will be about.

Christmas comes early

i think that Christmas comes early because there are lot of events that happen before Christmas comes such as sales and other events these start the Christmas spirit because more people will be cheerful and can save money to buy Christmas presents so they are able to save money. i also think that in America thanks giving buts people in the Christmas spirit too because it is even more time to spend time with family.

i think that sales is something to do with Christmas because you might want something that might be expensive but it goes on sale so that your parents can afford it this could also help people to save money and to get more presents. there are also sales on food such as turkey because most of the food you have on Christmas are traditional food and has been traditional for many years this could also help people afford more food and could make it possible for the poor to afford it and have a good time.

thanks giving leads up to Christmas which means you have a lot of time in the month to spend time with your family this is also another reason why i think that Christmas comes early. you can kind of say that the whole month is a lead to Christmas and is a jolly month for the people who celebrate Christmas because you go family shopping buying your Christmas tree and spending time with friends and family.

the events that happen is that around the streets you will see people singing carols trying to raise money for charity. December is the month when the winter wonderland is open and you can meet “Santa” and wish what you want. winter wonder land has lots rides where you can go and spend time with family.

overall i think that Christmas does come early because there is a lot of activity’s and events going on before Christmas and stuff to do with friends and family. these are the reasons i think that Christmas comes early and it is not just a day event but a month event.

Opinion piece

I think Christmas does come early because most sales start on the 1st of December which could mean that people can go shopping for Christmas. Another reason I think Christmas starts early is that school holidays start which means you can spend time with your family and have a nice time you can sometimes open Christmas presents early and see what you got. Another reason is that Christmas decorations get put up early and the streets get lit up and it looks really nice, some people have a nice atmosphere and are really cheerful.

These are the reasons why I think Christmas does come early and I think it feels nice that Christmas comes early and people can spend time with there families.

English essay

In my essay I am going to talk about how Hazlitt relates his life to hate.Hazlitt uses anecdotes,he does this by relating his life to hatred and putting it into a amusing way too.Hazlitt also uses irony to support his arguments

Hazlitt uses anecdotes to support his argument he does this by telling us story’s about a spider he talks about how he hates spiders and his phobia of them “i hate every sight of it” this is suggesting that Hazlitt hates spiders and can’t stand to see them in front of him.this is related to anecdote because Hazlitt has related to something in his his life that he hates,he also says the spider is “he runs with heedless, hurried haste,he hobbles awkwardly”this could be amusing because he is describing the spider in a very weird way and how it was coming towards him. Hazlitt uses a spider to connect hate with his life.

Hazlitt relates his life to hate really often by talking by a event that happened in his life that was bad eg: the spider story he related the spider as a monster and his phobia of them this is called anecdote. Hazlitt also uses irony by  making a point by amusing us eg: when he was talking bout the boxing match and the guy was talking about himself to be great but he lost the match, I think this is trying to tell us that not to always talk about yourself to be great and then u do something that you might regret,I also think he might be trying to teach his readers a lesson to never boost about yourself.

Hazlit is really good at using anecdotes because he uses them often to back his arguments. Hazlit does this.

Shafayet, as you have saved this as a draft I cannot comment.

This work is incomplete from my point of view. You should be writing in such a way that you argue a point. At the moment you are making some very sensible points, but you do not discuss the text in enough detail to be awarded the “Literary Essay” badge.

Homicide (david simon) essay

In Homicide (David Simon) there is suspense the are a lot if retorical question and irony for example “do you think we took’em? This is a retorical question because he doesn’t expect him to answer to that.

Homicide is a very interesting because they create suspense by putting you in the shoes of the criminal this creates because you are getting interigating and asked question you might not even know how to answer.simon also creates suspense by asking you question about the crime and you might not even know what the crime is.

One way Simon (Homicide) creates suspense by using retorical question, this helps with suspense.you are in the criminal’s position and you are getting interigating and you don’t know what to say, such as when you are getting asked about the crime, you don’t know if it is retorical or not, because you weren’t actually at the scene when it happens.

Simon also uses irony (verbal irony) I think that he uses irony to create suspense for example when he asks a question that mean the opposite, such as when the detective said “you want a lawyer we will give a good one”he is trying to make him feel that he is going to get a good lawyer but he might mean the opposite of what he is was saying.

Simon likes to create suspense because it gets the reader interested in the book because reader sometimes like suspense and asked question within the book, sometimes you will not know how to answer them and that makes you try to find out what the question is.

Simon also uses dramatic irony because we know that the detective is asking question that the criminal dosen’t know what he is trying to say,but we do know what the criminal said he wants a lawyer and the detective said you will get a good lawyer we know that he is just saying that to get him to confess.

Simon also creates a lot of tension between the criminal and the detective. The way he creates tension is by asking questions eg:”he came at you HUH?”the detective creates tension by asking these sorts of question because he wants the criminal to confess him crimes and to be locked up this is putting tension on the criminal because criminal dosen’t know if he should answer or nor but he did answer this creates more tension because he answered and now anything could happen to him.

Overall I think that Simon uses a lot of suspense to make his writing more interesting.throughout Homicide David Simon also writes in first person to put you in the spot of the criminal and to show how you will react to what is happening,He also wants us to see how we will feel about the situation.Another way Simon creates suspense is using irony this helps to set the scene of the suspense and for the reader to be more in trestles about the scene.Overall I think that Simon does create suspense in his writing to get the reader more into the book.

You should

You should never be bad in class.                You should always be good and educated                                                            you should never do drug.                            You should always stay healthy.                  You should never stay in the dark.               You should always be free of speech.       You should always teach others

You should never be rude                               you should always get the right shoe .

Shafayet –

Definite and clear use of anaphora here.

Poems need to start a new line for each new line. Each line also needs to start with a capital letter. So, for example:

You should never be bad in class.
You should always be good and educated

Holding down ‘Shift’ will mean you don’t skip a line when you press ‘Return’ for a new line.

Make this change now.
